Dayton Asks Minn. Schools To Pause Ahead Of 9/11
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton is encouraging schools statewide to observe a moment of silence Friday ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The anniversary falls on Sunday. Dayton says schools should choose a time Friday for their momentary pause. He is also ordering flags to be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise to sunset on Sunday.
Dayton was a U.S. senator at the time of the terrorist attacks.
