DNR Makes Burning Restrictions In Northern Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The DNR has imposed burning restrictions in northern Minnesota.

For anyone doing anything outdoors it's been a perfect end to the summer.

However, the statewide fire danger rating is "high" to "very high" in most of the state, according to Jean Goad of the DNR.

"That's because we've had very little rain over the last six weeks and the dew points are very low, so it's very dangerous out there," Goad said.

No permits are being issued for people wanting to burn brush in the northern half of Minnesota.

Campfires are still allowed in fire rings, but the DNR is asking hunters and campers to be especially vigilant.
