Security Changes At NFL Stadiums, Including Metrodome

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fans who attended the Minnesota Viking game may have noticed some amped up security. According to the National Football League, fans should get used to it.

The NFL announced last week that there will be more pat downs at all 31 league stadiums, including the H.H.H. Metrodome.

A spokesperson said the new security blitz includes pat downs from the ankles to the knees and from the waist up.

This announcement came just days after an incident involving a stun gun. On the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a Cowboys fan was charged with attacking three Jets fans with a stun gun at a New Jersey stadium.

NFL officials say the enhanced security was implemented before the start of the season -- not as a result of last weekend's incident.
