MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 47-year-old Zimmerman man was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Thursday after he was convicted in April for sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy.
Daniel Osten was arrested and charged on Jan. 22, 2010 with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was immediately booked into the Sherburne County Jail.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a sexual assault complaint on that day in Zimmerman. When authorities arrived, they learned that Osten had sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy on more than one occasion over several months.
Osten is a previously convicted pedophile who spent time in prison in 2004 for another criminal sexual conduct case. He served more than two years and was released in December of 2006.
