MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — National Public Radio host and author Michele Norris will headline an event at the Guthrie Theater as part of Minneapolis’ first-ever community read.
Norris will discuss her book, “The Grace of Silence,” on Oct. 3 with Minnesota Public Radio News host Kerri Miller. The memoir recounts the experiences of Norris’ family as the first black family on the block in a south Minneapolis neighborhood in the 1960s.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors, students and those with limited income.
“One Minneapolis, One Read” is designed to get people across town to read a single book and discuss it. Public events are planned at book clubs, libraries and literary centers where people can join in the community conversation.
