Census Finds 1,330 Gay Married Couples In Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota doesn’t permit same-sex couples to marry, but new figures from the Census Bureau shows it has nearly as many married same-sex couples as Iowa, where the unions are legal.

The bureau reports Tuesday that it found 1,330 married same-sex couples in Minnesota in the 2010 Census. That’s nearly the 1,373 couples it counted in Iowa, which legalized gay marriage in 2009.

The bureau also revised its earlier counts of same-sex couples, which includes both married and unmarried couples, after the bureau uncovered in errors in how it gathered data about same-sex households.

The bureau’s new estimate found nearly 10,300 same-sex couples in Minnesota in 2010, a big increase from the nearly 6,000 same-sex couples reported in revised figures from the 2000 census.

So come out of the closet already.

    2. Hey piggy, piggy says:

Dale, you also need to come on out of the closet and get that man love you so desperately need. Obviously the love of god has not settled your very gay, ruffled feathers.

    3. markH says:

The only God (the one true God) is himself gay and supports a loving relationship whatever the participants sex. You are yourself living in the darkness of bigotry if you have not met this God. Peace.

    4. Shame on You says:

But you’re cool with eating your god and drinking his blood. that’s messed up!!

    5. Straight As Can Be says:

      1. Kevin says:

Its hard to ignore the FEW percent of rainbow and glitter throwers that snivel and whine every ten seconds…if you dont like it here…go away and move to gayland….somewhere over the rainbow…way up high……POS

    1. Cindy says:

Of course they are, they can’t naturally reproduce themselves so how else would they make new gays?

      1. john0990 says:

If that’s the case, Cindy, who made the first gay? God, perhaps?

        1. Cindy says:

Mohammad would probably be a better guess

          1. john0990 says:

            Nope, not Mohammed. It’s God.

            1. Otto says:

Actually Mohammed = God…they are the same diety, just a different name in their respective religions

              1. john0990 says:

Actually, Allah = God. Not Mohammed.

          2. Mike says:

Cindy doesn’t miss a beat playing her bigot bongo……….

  4. Wolf says:

I have a better solution No One can get married. Lets just ban marriage all together. Most end up in divorce costing most folks thousands of dollars. Save the hassle. If your relationship is not strong enough to last unless your married then there is a problem with your relationship. Lets start a constitutional ban on all forms of Marriage.

    1. john0990 says:

No, let’s just let the gays get married if they want to. It won’t hurt anyone. Except for Cindy. But I’m guessing most things hurt Cindy in one way or another.

  5. G Dog says:

Who cares? Good for them. I’m sick of the sanctimonious Bible thumpers trying to force their “views” on the rest of us. I witnessed a bunch of gay marriages at SF City Hall while on vacation – every bit as a joyous occasion as a traditional marriage.

Something about glass houses and stones comes to mind……

  6. Matt says:

I find it funny that people who believe in god speak in such sinful ways. If there is a god, only god can judge others, you have no say in it.

    1. NotMatt says:

So then we should leave child molesters and murderers be? And god will take care of them…I could care less if gay people get married, but your logic is ridiculous.
