Man Arrested In Mendota Heights Robbery, Police Search

MENDOTA HEIGHTS (WCCO) — A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a liquor store robbery that led to a police search at a park in St. Paul Monday, according to Mendota Heights Police.

At 2:56 p.m. Monday, police said a Mendota Heights liquor store was robbed. After the robbery, a suspect vehicle description was given to area law enforcement. About 20 minutes later, a Rosemount police officer attempted to stop a vehicle matching the description, but the vehicle fled and a police chase ensued.

The pursuit ended in St. Paul’s Lilydale Regional Park, where the suspect fled the vehicle and eluded police.

The suspect’s vehicle was held by Eagan Police.

During this time, police said they learned other robberies in Bloomington, Eagan and West St. Paul could be connected to the suspect and vehicle.

On Tuesday afternoon, Scott Allen Swanlaw was arrested by Bloomington Police in connection to the robberies and will be held at the Hennepin County Jail.

Dakota County investigators from the involved law enforcement agencies are coordinating their investigations to prepare a criminal complaint against Swanlaw for the Dakota County Attorney’s Office.
