Driver Located In Rochester Hit-And-Run

ROCHESTER, Minn. (WCCO) -- Authorities say they have located the driver believed to be involved in a hit-and-run accident on Sept. 17.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Highway 52 in Rochester. According to police, the man was riding his bike north on the highway, near the Apache Mall, when he was struck. Police say the driver fled the scene.

On Wednesday, the Minnesota State Patrol said they located the vehicle involved, as well as the driver, in another state. They say based on evidence and information, they were able to track down the suspect.

The biker, identified as Richard Zwart, 27, of Rochester, was treated for his injuries at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

The identity of the driver has not been released. The Minnesota State Patrol will continue to investigate.
