Jared Allen Still Fond Of Chiefs Fans, Not Front Office

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Jared Allen is off to a strong start this season for the Minnesota Vikings, with 4 1/2 sacks in the first three games.

The pass rush is one area the winless Vikings (0-3) don't have to be concerned about. After a substandard performance last year, Allen is leading the push.

This week, the Vikings are preparing to travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs, the team that drafted, developed and ultimately traded Allen in 2008. Allen said Wednesday that he still roots for the Chiefs because he enjoyed the fans so much when he played there.

But Allen again criticized team management for the way he was handled. He said then-general manager Carl Peterson "lied" to him about promising a contract extension.
