What's In Your Garden: Why Fall Lawn Care Is Important
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fall is here, but that doesn't mean you should slack off on your lawn care. It's actually the most important time of the year for your lawn.
Susie Bachman from Bachman's Garden Center explained why a little work in your lawn in the fall and you will reap the benefits next spring.
Bachman gave these tips:
• If you have an area where the grass has died, till up the soil, sprinkle a little grass seed and water it a lot.
• If you want a lush lawn you'll want to apply a fall lawn winterizer and fertilizer now.
• Fall is also a good time to tackle the weeds, you apply a herbicide and the weed will actually take up more of the herbicide this time of year and it's more effective.
• Remember to rake your lawn. Keeping leaves on the lawn will flatten down the grass and you will potentially have more disease next spring.
