Fire Destroys Oakdale Home

OAKDALE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Firefighters said an Oakdale, Minn. home was extensively damaged in a big fire.

Crews were called to the home on Guthrie Ave. North around 1 a.m. Monday.

Fire crews said it started in a detached garage and then spread to the home.

The woman who lived there was able to make it out safely and is staying with relatives.

Some wet sheet rock fell on a few firefighters inside the house, but they weren't hurt.

Investigators are searching for the cause.
