Police Release Composite Sketch In Attempted Abduction

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police Department has released a composite sketch of a man they believe attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl on Sept. 26.

Police say they received a report about the near abduction after receiving a call around 4 p.m. that a girl was being followed on her walk home by a vehicle.

Near the bridge over the Midtown Greenway, on the 2900 block of 10th Avenue South, the driver allegedly attempted to kidnap the girl and force her into his car. The girl fought back and got away.

The victim described him as a black man, 27 to 33 years old, medium complexion, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3 with braided hair and a goatee. He was wearing a long, red T-shirt and black jeans at the time of the incident.

A sketch artist created a composite drawing of what the man might look like. Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department at (612) 692-8477.
