Woodbury Father, 2 Children Die In Arizona RV Fire

OAKDALE (WCCO) — A Woodbury father and his two children have died in an RV fire while on vacation at the Grand Canyon.

A representative for the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale school district says Anthony Dehaven, 35, was killed early Monday morning along with his daughter, Jersey, and son, Jace.

Jersey was in Kindergarten at Skyview Elementary in Oakdale. Jace was in 6th grade at Skyview Middle School.

Their RV caught fire in a parking lot outside an entrance to the park. No information was released on what may have caused the fire.

Students were told about the incident Tuesday afternoon and extra staff members were on hand to help them deal with the loss.

This is a story begging for details. Did the exits of the RV fail? Were the occupants suffering from carbon monoxide? Too many unanswered questions, but my sympathy goes out to the family left behind.

Sally, Just because there’s school doesn’t mean a father can’t take his kids on a little vacation you tool!

    where’s the mother?

    • Jodi

The mother was at home she didn’t go on the trip.

  • Jodi

Its heart breaking. I hope we find out what happens. Jersey was my daughters friend and they were in the same Kindergarten class. This has been very hard on everyone. I just hope the poor children didn’t suffer.
