1-Armed Man Charged With Murder In Little Falls Shooting

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) – A 35-year-old Hutchinson man is accused of shooting and killing another man in Little Falls on Tuesday after the two got into an argument involving drugs and money, according to charges filed Wednesday in Morrison County Court.

Jason Ray Dominguez was charged with two counts of second-degree intentional murder in connection with the shooting death of Dustin J. Brown.

According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a residence on the 600 block of Lindbergh Drive North at about 3:52 a.m. Tuesday on a report of shots fired. When authorities arrived, there was a small fire under the porch of the residence. Once getting inside, police found an adult male later identified as Brown lying next to a bed who had suffered several gunshot wounds.

Brown was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead at about 4:47 a.m.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner discovered that Brown had suffered seven gunshot wounds, including a fatal bullet that struck the right side of Brown's forehead. Brown had also been shot once in each leg, one arm, chest, jaw and back, the complaint states.

Brown's neighbors told police that a one-armed man had been in the area looking for Brown in recent weeks. That man, later identified as Dominguez, had been released from prison on Aug. 3 and was living in Hutchinson. Brown's brother told police that Dominguez was pressuring Brown to do something drug-related, and Brown did not want to be a part of it.

It was also revealed during the investigation that Brown owed Dominguez money. Officers with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension located Dominguez in Hutchinson on Tuesday and arrested him.

He told police that on Monday, he took his girlfriend and her three children to Little Falls to "visit a friend," according to the complaint. When Dominguez met with Brown, they argued about money.

Dominguez, his girlfriend and the three children eventually left and went back to Hutchinson. The compliant states Dominguez got a gun during that time and went back to Little Falls.

Dominguez's girlfriend drove him to the area where Brown lived and picked him up after the shooting. Dominguez told her, according to the complaint, "I shot him seven times." He then showed her seven shell casings.

Dominguez, covered in blood, then drove with his girlfriend to the city of Rice, where they bought bleach, went to a car wash and washed his clothes and the car. Dominguez later tried to bury the gun near Hutchinson, which was later retrieved by authorities.
