Lynx Hungry To Win Game 2 Against Atlanta Dream

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx players have become rock stars to their young fans. They're a team filled with all-stars and future Olympians, but a team that understands there is little room for error in this WNBA Finals series against a very good Atlanta Dream squad.

Game 2 in the best-of-five series tips off at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and it figures to be in front of another crowd of more than 15,000 at the Target Center.

One thing the Lynx have talked about is coming out at the start of games a lot stronger than they did on Sunday night, when they fell behind by double digits before rallying in the fourth quarter.

Rebekkah Brunson fought through a bad chest cold to score 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Minnesota had a big advantage on the boards.

WNBA Rookie of the Year Maya Moore didn't have a big night offensively, but her defense was so good down the stretch. In other words, as Brunson and Moore said Wednesday before the game, whatever it takes is what this Lynx team needs to do in order to win the WNBA championship.

"You could just sense it from some of the veterans who have been around, they're just so thirsty for either another championship or their first championship," Moore said. "This group, it'll be a first for this franchise and we have an opportunity to do something special for this franchise, so there's just so much to work hard for and be excited for."

"It was great the first time and I think it will be just as amazing this time around because of the same things that made it great the first time around," Brunson said. "That's because of the players I was with, the type of unity that we had and the type of camaraderie that we had. I think this team is very similar."
