Charges Sought After Fatal Wis. Mo-Ped Collision

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Madison police are requesting homicide charges against a motorist who allegedly struck and killed a mo-ped rider.

Police say the collision occurred Saturday about 3:15 a.m.

Authorities say the 27-year-old motorist was driving in the wrong lane of traffic when she hit the mo-ped rider. The victim's name hasn't been released but a WISC-TV report says the person was a Madison resident between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.

Police are seeking charges of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
