Crash Kills At Least 1 In Faribault

FARIBAULT, Minn. (WCCO) -- At least one person has been killed in a fatal accident in Faribault Saturday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The accident happened at about 8:49 a.m. Saturday on Lyndale Avenue just south of Division Street. Authorities said it was a one vehicle accident where the car apparently ran off the road.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the vehicle was a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and was heading southbound on Lyndale Avenue south of Division Street when it went off the roadway on the right side and struck a metal power pole.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim at this time. The incident remains under investigation by Faribault Police and the Minnesota State Patrol.
