Designer Deals Not Just For Ladies

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (WCCO) -- Calling all Minnesota Fashionistas! And no, that doesn't just mean the ladies. You can find huge savings on high-end designer duds at a St. Louis Park store called Opitz Outlet.

It's a name many women have known about for years, but it's a store now gaining huge popularity with men.

The racks look like any other store, but this discount retailer is not a consignment store or chain.

"Marshalls and TJ Maxx you'll see eight of the same color, same size, same item. We have 'onesies' and 'twosies' so we're unique," said Opitz spokesperson Tammy Anderson.

Men come for brand names.

"Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Lacoste -- we have all of it at 70 percent off retail," said Anderson.

For women?

"The faux vests are hot right now," Anderson said.

The St. Louis Park's stores biggest attraction in the last 20 years has always been the shoe department. They sell 2,000 pairs a week.

"And again, it's not just women browsing those discounts. The men's department is also popular," Anderson said.

One shopper, Anthony Brown, came with his grandmother to the store for the first time, but plans to come back. He says he found items at 80 percent off.

"I think prices should always be like this. It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to buy something," said Brown.
