Stolen Construction Equipment Recovered

BARRON, Wis. (AP) — Heavy construction equipment stolen in Minnesota has been recovered in Wisconsin.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department says a Caterpillar excavator backhoe, a Bobcat skid steer, trailers and other pieces of construction machinery with a total value of about $200,000 have been located.

Search warrants were executed late last week at properties in Turtle Lake and the town of Almena where authorities found the missing equipment. A 29-year-old Turtle Lake man is wanted for questioning.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press says the machinery stolen in four counties in Minnesota has since been returned.

I’m surprised they didn’t find the stuff in St. Louis.
