MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 59-year-old Howard Lake woman died Monday night after being involved in an accident in Medina that morning, authorities said Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 8:22 a.m. Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities said the woman was driving a 2007 Chrysler van when she drove through a red light on Highway 55 at County Road 101 in Medina, hitting the driver’s side door of a 2010 Lexus sedan being driven by a 50-year-old man.

The woman, identified by the Hennepin County Medical Center Wednesday as Roxanne Scheer, died at 8:28 p.m. Monday at North Memorial Medical Center as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. The man, Howard Buff of Medina, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
