Dozier, Hendriks Are Twins Minor League POYs

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Twins have named infielder Brian Dozier their minor league player of the year and right-hander Liam Hendriks their minor league pitcher of the year.

The Twins announced the awards on Thursday. The 24-year-old Dozier hit a combined .320 with 33 doubles, 12 triples and nine homers in 127 games with Class-A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain this year. Seven of his nine home runs came in Double-A and Dozier also stole 24 bases.

Hendriks pitched in Double-A and Triple-A this season, going 4-4 with a 4.56 ERA in nine starts for the Rochester Red Wings. He also was called up to the big club in September. He went 0-2 with a 6.17 ERA in four starts for the Twins.
