COON RAPIDS, Minn. (WCCO) – Police arrested one person early Friday morning after discovering a 44-year-old woman dead in Coon Rapids, Minn.

The woman was discovered dead by her sister on Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Susan Marie Courteau. She lived on the 10300 block of Hanson Boulevard Northwest.

Police are still investigating the incident and Friday afternoon they identified the suspect they believe is responsible as 54-year-old Patrick William Benton.

Authorities did not elaborate on the manner of Courteau’s death, other than to say that she died of “homicidal violence.”

The city police department is being assisted by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
