Man Pleads Guilty To Making Fake Postage Stamps

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Prior Lake man pleaded guilty Monday to making counterfeit postage stamps.

Thirty-one-year-old Andre George Mehilove pleaded guilty to one count of counterfeiting postage stamps in St. Paul.

In his plea agreement, Mehilove admitted creating the fake stamps using his computer and printer from August 2006 to April 2009. The stamps were copies of postage meter stamps, which he purchased online.

Mehilove also admitted that he used the fake stamps to mail items and sold the stamps online.

Mehilove faces a potential maximum penalty of five years in prison, if convicted.
