Minn. Duluth, Providence Tie 2-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Matt Bergland scored with 2:21 to play to help rally Providence to a 2-2 tie with Minnesota Duluth in men's college hockey on Saturday.

Bergland got the equalizer for the Friars (2-1-1) on a power play just 2:36 after Mike Seidel had given the Bulldogs (2-3-1) a 2-1 lead with his own power-play goal. It was Seidel's fifth goal of the season.

Justin Crandall scored the game's first goal for UMD at 12:18 of the second period. Providence tied it on Damian Cross' goal at 7:09 of the third.

Alex Beaudry made three of his 32 saves for Providence in overtime. Kenny Reiter made 31 saves, just one in overtime.

Minnesota Duluth won the series opener 5-2 on Friday.
