Wis. Police Officer Shoots Self In Foot

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee police officer is recovering after shooting himself in the foot.

A WDJT-TV report says the officer and his partner were driving Saturday about 2:45 a.m. when they saw a number of people in a gas station parking lot. As the officers drove into the lot they heard multiple gunshots ring out.

While trying to get out of the car, the officer removed his gun from the holster and accidentally pulled the trigger. He fired one round into his right heel.

Police eventually arrested one suspect at the scene and recovered a gun. That investigation continues.

The officer who was wounded is 29 years old with two years of police service.

Just what I was thinking. We are bad, huh??

  • Jake

Wow, really piling on on the Wisconsin stories this week, aren’t we?? Any such weird things happening in MN these days, or are the local press simply ignoring them??

    • tan pup

Weird WI; have you all forgotten about MN darling daughter – Michelle Bachman? At least WI has something to be proud of THE PACKERS. LOL

    • Andy Taylor

Hey, we do a lot of weird things in Minnesota, but nothing compared to the stuff you Wisconsin folks do. You’ve got us beat by a mile in the weird department. A good example would be those crazy recall elections. In fact, now that I think about it, you’ve got pretty much the whole country beat by a mile in the weird department.

      • I'm So Wasted

My favorite Wisconsin stories were the 3 guys that were going to dig up a deceased woman & have sex with her and the one about a guy getting busted for trying to have sex with a deer. I swear, Minnesota has oddball politicians & Wisconsin has oddball residents…..could we send our politicians to Wisconsin?

  • Stave

It’s a major problem with Glocks. Too easy to make mistakes.

    • Robert

yea, like pulling the trigger before you’ve got a suspect in your pistols sights.

    • bill

Not really glocks are very safe it was the officers fault ,keep your finger off the trigger and you wont have this problem!

  • Quick Draw McGraw

Trigger in motion, before mind is in gear.
I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often given
the intelligence of todays law officers.

  • Mr. Mustache

Only in Cheese Head Land would a dumb ass cop do something like this. Wonder if he was drinking on the job or was he high on sugar from the donuts.

    • Ferris Lind

      • Deep Thinker

Good one…..did you sprain your one brain cell thinking that one up?

  • Andy Taylor

There’s a reason I only gave Barney one bullet, and made him keep it in his pocket.

  • Chief Clancy Wiggum

    Officer down! Officer down!

  • Lettuce Eater

Ferris Lind must be a cheese head too. Why are you limping? Oh you put your foot in your mouth and you bit yourself. HaHaHaHa

  • LOOSER COP !!!

  • Pointing at Wisconsin from Up North

Good thing they have the Packers! Only shiny spot in the state!

  • Barney Fife

Hahahahaha! How do you like that Glock now, officer? Hahahahahaha!

BTW – they call this condition “Glock Foot” – seriously.

  • TL the alligator

hennepin county sheriffs office has one….Greg Felber….shot off his weapon into his locker in the locker room.

  • Grim Reaper

    Was the foot running away!

  • KegHead

Sounds like Otis was on patrol.

  • Svenbo

Why did he have a round chambered while riding around in the squad car? AND the safety was off? This scares me. How many cops are driving around like this?

  • rita

what about the safety on the gun did he ever think about having that on before he pulled it out of the holster? I don’t shoot guns but I heard that that helps Duh

    • Stave

That’s the problem with Glock pistols. The safety is on the trigger. Theoretically it’s perfect. No fumbling for the safety. In reality it is dangerous. Many, many gun enthusiasts no matter how much shooting they’ve done have made mistakes with Glocks.

  • Murph

A firearms safety course might have helped! A brain transplant might have been even better.Plus if it was a Republican gathering, they should have known it was all for show and no threat to the rich 2% they are told to mollycoddle and protect by the Koch’s and their elected stooges!
