1 Dead After Three Car Crash In Pine County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – At least one person is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Pine County Tuesday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to a report of crash involving multiple vehicles at 5:39 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 35 near mile marker 167 in Pine County. When authorities arrived, they learned that a 1999 Cadillac Seville, 1999 Chevy Silverado and 2001 Toyota Corolla had all been involved in the crash.

Authorities said the Cadillac Seville was traveling northbound and rear-ended the Toyota Corolla, causing the Seville to lose control and enter the southbound lane where it was broad-sided by the Chevy Silverado.

The driver of the Cadillac Seville was killed, while a 67-year-old Forest Lake man driving the Silverado suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Pine County Sheriff’s Office.

There was ANOTHER crash a few miles south of this spot today (10/26) about 3pm….in less than 24 hours, less than 5 miles apart at least 2 people have been killed in horrible crashes…

I saw the after affects of that today…that Truck was totally torched and I believe the Pine County and State troopers as well as the Fire dept did an excellent job today of keeping everyone calm thru the frustration of the traffic jam… my son and I came through that same scene the night before witnessing the south bound lane of confusion/crash… I just pray for all the family’s involved…. I travel that route daily…I am so sorry for your loss.

Extremely surprised that 2 incidents within 24 hour and within a very short mileage range with more than 1 fatality did not make the news to alert people to pay attention to your surroundings beyond the ’94’ loop!
