Minn. Teen Accused Of Killing Family's Chihuahua

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (AP) -- An Albert Lea teen is accused of using a brick to crush the head of his family's Chihuahua.

Police were called to the 17-year-old boy's home earlier this month after a family member reported the dog's death.

An officer says the dog was found next to a cinder block in a pool of blood. Authorities say the boy had set the dog on the cinder block and used a brick to smash its head.

One of the boy's brothers told police the suspect had been upset lately because the family had recently given away one of the dog's puppies.

Police say the boy admitted killing the dog and said he has "unpredictable behavior."

An Albert Lea Tribune report says the boy is due in Freeborn County court on Monday.
