ROCHESTER (WCCO) — Police have released the identity of a woman who was found dead in the Zumbro River in downtown Rochester Sunday.

According to police, a preliminary autopsy confirmed the body’s identity as 45-year-old Constance “Connie” Violet Barta of Rochester.

Police say Barta resided alone in an extended stay hotel near downtown Rochester. A search of her residence, as well as water way and river bank, showed no obvious signs of criminal activity.

Final autopsy reports, including toxicology reports, are pending.

Anyone with information regarding Barta is encouraged to contact law enforcement at 1-507-328-6932.
