Mike Max’s News And Notes For Nov. 1, 2011

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Mike Max has this week’s news and notes.

The Gophers viewed a tape of Iowa tearing down the goal post in Minnesota in 2002 as a motivational tool before the Iowa game.

Columbia Heights basketball star Zach Lofton is at a prep school in Iowa.

Legendary Chisholm basketball coach Bob McDonald has two grandsons playing for Bemidji State against the Gophers Tuesday Night.

Kris Humphries is a free agent coming off a double-double season, and the Timberwolves may have gained a little interest because he’s lost the baggage of his Hollywood marriage. However, the word is New Jersey really wants him back and several from their office attended the big wedding just 73 days ago.

The Vikings are still waiting to hear a concrete version of Cris Cook’s domestic case. Cook told me last week the public has not heard the full story but seemed less than optimistic he’d return to the team.

Also, legendary high school basketball coach Larry McKenzie, now at Holy Angels, has just released a book on the lessons learned from the game.
