Wis. Man Cited For Slapping Officer On The Butt

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Madison man accused of slapping a female police officer on the buttocks has been cited for disorderly conduct.

Police say the incident happened during the city's downtown Halloween party over the weekend.

Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says the officer was patrolling the area on bicycle Sunday about 12:30 a.m., when the 21-year-old man slapped her on the butt. DeSpain says the man also made contact with her gun.

A Capital Times report says the officer got off the bike and handcuffed the man. DeSpain says the man "apologized profusely" before getting a citation.
