Ex-Cop Arrested For Alleged Burglary, Again

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 39-year-old former Minnetonka police officer is accused of burglary for a second time.

Daniel Saba was arrested Oct. 19 for an alleged burglary at a residence on Boulder Point Road in Eden Prairie. Police observed Saba driving around randomly and going up to homes to see if they were open, around 2 p.m.

Officers then saw Saba enter a residence through the front door. He came out shortly later, and was approached by police. Saba attempted to run, but was arrested after a brief foot chase, according to the criminal complaint.

Saba is facing charges of second-degree burglary for the incident, after admitting to stealing vicodin.

Saba has previously served a jail sentence for breaking into homes for perscription pills.

addition is an ugly thing.cost this dude his career and now this chit again. wow
actually kinda knew him thru someone a few years back. decent giy when straaight but then this and …. again, wow

Addiction, my eye. No addiction forced him to break into people’s homes. His own lack of self control did. Quit blaming a faceless enemy, when we have his name and face already.

In my community it is the addicted that do 90% of the burglaries and thefts. I would imagine this trend fits in most places in this country. They get desparate for money and after using all thier friends and families up they will often turn to this type of behavior. No excuse…just a fact. So maybe his addiction didn’t force him to break in…but if he hadn’t become addicted to pain pills he would probably still be a cop and not breaking into peoples homes.

Agreed!!! Thank you for educating our ignorant fellow commentators on this website; many just don’t understand what drug addiction does to our society and that it truly is an ugly thing that can turn even the most good-hearted people into crazy, desperate criminals.

    What a pouty face.

  • Dudley Do Right

Cops can go around falsely accusing innocent people, but can’t control their own.

    • jackactionhero

He isn’t a cop, so which cops should have “controlled their own”?

      Please be specific.

Is this based on your research, or have you seen ‘training day’ one too many times? Most cops are good people. There are always going to be a few bad apples in the bunch. the one exception might be politicians.
