The Good Life For Less: Beauty Best Buys II

We continue our virtual scour of the best tips for spending less on beauty essentials with more tips from money-saving expert, Andrea Woroch. Today we take a look at keeping your tresses in tip-top shape without breaking the bank.

Check out part one here on makeup money savers.

All About The Hair

Woroch said you can extend the life of your shampoo (and hair color) by using a dry shampoo or baby powder in between washes. I think the big money saver comes from using the right amount of product. Pouring more than you need is money down the shower drain.

Woroch suggests when using shampoo and conditioner, check out these great tips and best bargain buys from DailyFinance.com.

If you want to keep your hair color looking vibrant, she said brunettes can use a strong pot of cooled coffee and blonds can use a lemon juice-water mixture. You'll want to apply the treatment after shampooing, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse, condition and style as usual.

If you want to dress up your hair, why not try making your own hair accessories. Woroch said to try this style and channel your inner domestic goddess by creating one-of-a-kind hair accessory with beads, feathers and artificial flowers found in craft stores.

Check back later this week for the final installment of Beauty Best Buys.
