ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have a good problem in goal.
Coach Mike Yeo says he’ll start Josh Harding Thursday against Vancouver for the third straight game. Harding beat Detroit in back-to-back turns, allowing only three goals over those two games. He’s coming off major knee surgery and missed all of last season. Harding wasn’t even sure whether he’d be back in Minnesota or if his career would continue, considering the significance of his injury.
Niklas Backstrom has been playing well himself, and he’s still the starter. But Yeo says he takes the goalie situation day by day.
