Andover Man Killed In Unusual Accident

ANDOVER, Minn. (WCCO) -- An Andover man is dead after an unusual accident while working at his home on Thursday afternoon.

A 59-year-old man was operating a truck-mounted tree spade, used to dig trees out from the ground, when the spade got stuck, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the man was using a crowbar to loosen the machine when it suddenly became unstuck. That's when the machine and the crowbar struck the man in the head.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said the man was dead at the scene.
