Kurt Zellers Talks Vikings Stadium On WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It was a long and dramatic week at the State Capitol on the Vikings stadium front.

Negotiations continued between Gov. Mark Dayton, lawmakers and Vikings officials on a plan to come up with a new stadium and exactly how to pay for it. It appeared everything was stalled when Dayton said last week that no public sales tax revenue would be used to help pay for a new stadium.

The attention turned to gaming late in the week as a possibility to pay for a portion of the stadium the next day, bringing new life to the chances of putting together a bill for a stadium and the possibility of having a special session.

House Speaker Kurt Zellers, who is opposed to having a special session to pass a Vikings stadium bill, joined Esme Murphy on the WCCO-TV Sunday Morning show to talk about the possibilities with the new stadium.
