MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Chad Greenway, Cullen Loeffler, John Sullivan and Christian Ponder went pheasant hunting in South Dakota last week during the Vikings bye week. So how did Ponder respond with a limited background in that sport?

“Good. He’s a little new to it, so it took a little time but by the end he was right there with everybody. He did a great job,” Sullivan said.

Mankato’s Alex Means and Spring Lake Park’s Jordan Waiwaiole now both play for Air Force Academy. They are three and four in tackles for the Falcons.


On Wednesday, the Gopher Women’s Basketball Program will sign three local prospects — that’s the biggest local commitment since Pam Borton has been head coach.

This year’s freshman local, Lakeville North’s Rachel Banham, has a brother Cole who transferred in and is walking on for the Gopher football team.


Augustana College got a check of about $7,000 to play the Gophers Men’s Basketball Team on Tuesday night.


And the Hail Mary of the week goes to Concordia St. Paul’s Spencer Ohm for a 62-yard pass to Charles Gilbert to beat Upper Iowa on the final play — 20-19.
