Lynx Hope To Get Lucky In Lottery Again

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx are hoping to go from rich to richer.

The league will hold its annual draft lottery on Thursday afternoon to determine the top four picks in next season's draft. Only teams who did not make the playoffs are eligible for a chance at the top spot. But thanks to a trade the Lynx pulled off with Washington before last season, Minnesota will get the Mystics' pick.

That means the Lynx have the second-best chance to get the No. 1 overall pick. They had the top pick last year and parlayed it into UConn star Maya Moore. Moore was named rookie of the year and helped the Lynx to the franchise's first championship.

The draft lottery will be held at 3 p.m. Central time.
