Sartell Man Dies In Cass County Hunting Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 51-year-old Sartell man died on Sunday when his gun accidentally fired after he apparently fell out of his deer stand, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Dan Hyndman on Thursday.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing hunter in Beulah Township on Sunday. Authorities immediately began a search in the area and at about 10 a.m., his body was found near his deer stand.

Authorities said it appeared Hyndman had fallen out of his deer stand, causing an accidental discharge of his firearm and a fatal gunshot wound.

The incident was one of a couple hunting deaths over the weekend across Minnesota.
