Authorities: Fergus Falls Man With Dementia Missing

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) — An 88-year-old Fergus Falls man with dementia has been reported missing in Fergus Falls Friday.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, George Hanson was last seen leaving his home near Fergus Falls around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon. He left in a light tan 2000 Buick LeSabre with Minnesota license plate VYJ-337.

Hanson was last seen wearing a navy blue plaid long sleeve shirt, a navy blue windbreak-style jacket with a fur collar and a dress-style hat.

    This seems to happen more and more. If a person has dementia why on earth are they still living unassisted and driving a car. Why is there not famil y members taking care of him and preventing him from just driving away.
