Capt. Scott Nolan of the Anoka Police Department said the man showed up at Mercy Hospital with the wound in the early afternoon. He was talking, and investigators learned that he was the victim of a shooting at an Anoka residence. He is currently in stable condition.

Police went to the residence, located on 117 1/2 Benton Street, and confirmed that it was the scene of the shooting and obtained a search warrant.

Nolan said police have identified a suspect, who is an adult male, but he is not currently in custody.

Police are investigative the motive, but Nolan said the shooting was not random and the victim and suspect knew each other.

The suspect is still at large and anyone with information should contact the Anoka Police Department at 763-576-2800.
