Downtown Mpls Businesses Bracing For No Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — With the possibility of NO NBA season, many downtown Minneapolis businesses are bracing for a winter with no Timberwolves action — and less customers coming through their doors.

Brock Mortensen is one of the managers at Keiran’s Irish Pub, which is right across the street from Target Center.

“It does bring in, obviously, the Wednesday night crowd … that helped us out. But, I mean, there was some excitement drawn to this year with Rubio, which is now kind of a downer,” said Mortensen.

Mortensen said they have not had to reduce staff however, and says they expect to be OK if there is no season.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. They were so bad LAST YEAR, that I would think that there absence would actually HELP your downtown bar biddness. Let them DIE, or move, or just fade away. It was a bad idea to try to bring an NBA team here from the very beginning. Let me put it this way: The NBA has morphed into the biggest bunch of overpaid, disrepectful, ungrateful, undisciplined, moronic,
unlawful, bunch of losers that this society has seen in a LONG, LONG, TIME.
Wouldn’t bother me in the least if the whole league went BELLY UP, of we never won an Olympic gold medal, , or any other notible medal. The SPORT got hijacked by ghetto thugs who can’t dribble, who talk endless trash, and have NO CLASS, whatsoever. If that is the definition of 21st Century ‘entertainment’, then we are definitely on the downslide.

Wow, what a poorly written story, it wouldnt’t surprise me if it was written on her etch-a-sketch. The whole story was about the inpact no basketball would have on the business bracing for possibility of no season. Then she writes aboult one business who stated that they’ll be fine and the have done nothing to “brace” for the lock out. Wow
