MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Are you Norwegian-American? Have you never been to the motherland? The producers of a popular reality TV show want you.
For their third season, the producers of “Alt for Norge” (also known as “The Great Norway Adventure”) are seeking candidates to audition for their program, which brings a group of people with Norwegian ancestry to explore the nation and compete for a cash prize.
Chicago’s O’Connor Casting Company announced a call for submissions on Wednesday.
You don’t have to be full-blooded Norwegian to qualify; as the press release says, “even a little bit counts.”
The Census Bureau estimates nearly 870,000 Minnesotans have Norwegian heritage, which accounts for roughly 16.5 percent of the total population.
“We’re looking for people who have a deep curiosity or passion for their Norwegian heritage, and want to have a life-changing adventure,” said David O’Connor.
The casting call says the shoot dates are scheduled for late April through late June of next year. Last season’s contenders said everyone involved was there for at least two weeks before eliminations began.
The show is the top-ranked reality-based series in Norway.
