MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Seven horses seized from a horse ranch in East Bethel, Minn. have been admitted to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center, the University announced Thursday.
On Wednesday, after receiving several complaints, Animal Human Society humane agents removed the horses from the NV Arabian Horse Ranch.
The team had previously removed 10 horses in September after an investigation of the property determined the horses weren’t receiving proper care.
The University said equine veterinary specialists are now evaluating the horses to determine whether neglect caused their emaciated state.
The Animal Humane Society will continue to monitor the ranch, which has an additional 30 horses still on the property.
