ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have called up defenseman Kris Fredheim to make his NHL debut.
The Wild brought the 24-year-old Fredheim up from their AHL affiliate in Houston so he could play Thursday against Colorado. Fredheim led Houston with a plus-7 rating in 15 games.
Defenseman Marek Zidlicky suffered a concussion Tuesday at Columbus and won’t play Thursday. Defenseman Marco Scandella has a concussion and has missed the last two games.
Guillaume Latendresse was placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to a concussion that has kept him out of the last three games.
Coach Mike Yeo said Zidlicky, Scandella and Latendresse are all day to day. Scandella is the closest to coming back.
Also, injured defensemen Greg Zanon (groin) and Mike Lundin (back) have been skating and nearing a return.
