MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed and three others suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Carver County Friday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said the incident happened at about 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Audobon Road and Wildflower Lane. The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2007 Chevy Silverado was driving northbound on Audobon Road when it was hit head-on by a 1996 Saturn SL1 in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Saturn, 40-year-old Martin Rios Ballines of Shakopee, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two 19-year-old men from Victoria and a 20-year-old Chaska woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. One of the 19-year-old men was driving the vehicle that struck Ballines head-on.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office and Chaska Police are assisting in the investigation.
