Just 4 You Winner Nominated By Grateful Daughter

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Each week, WCCO This Morning is rewarding a hard-working, dedicated parent who loves what they do.

This week, Chris Stanford surprised this week's winner, whose daughter was the one who told us how much she deserved the honor.

St. Paul Single mother Nicki Tennyson has three children -- Star, Taylor and Zoe.

"I think she's the best mom that anyone could have because she's done a lot for me," said a tearful Zoe.

The Tennyson family took Zoe in a few years ago, and the 17-year-old says it couldn't have worked out better.

"All she has to do is tell me she loves me.  My family didn't tell me that. So that's all she has to do," said Zoe.

Nicki had no idea of what was in store when WCCO visited her, but her daughter Star wrote a touching submission.

Nicki recently picked up a second job working nights and weekends to help her daughter Star, whose car broke down. The second job is to help pay for a new vehicle.

If you ask her children, Nicki is a mother that puts her kids first, no matter what.

WCCO gave the family tickets to Monster Jam, coming up at the Metrodome on Dec. 10.
