MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities say a helicopter and its pilot are still missing after the helicopter crashed in Cass County Thursday night into Ten Mile Lake in Hiram Township, authorities said.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at about 7 p.m. Authorities said a passenger in the chopper was able to get to shore, but the pilot and helicopter have not been located.

Authorities said the search for the pilot and the helicopter will continue on Friday. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Walker Police, the Minnesota DNR, Leech Lake officers and Hackensack Fire and Rescue.

What exactly caused the crash is still under investigation at this time.
