MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a body was found Friday near Squaw Lake in Itasca County.

The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office said the remnants of a body were found Friday. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to assist at the scene, and officials are still working to identify the person.

Authorities say a man went missing from that area more than a year ago, but officials aren’t saying yet if the remains are his. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
