Mama V’s Green Bean Casserole

Mama V’s Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

2 packages French style frozen green beans, 16 oz each

1-small can French Fried Onions

1-can Cream of Cream of mushroom soup

1- Package sliced almonds

Directions:

Cover the beans in pot of water and boil about 8-10 minutes. Drain and strain beans well. Coat a casserole dish with butter. Place a layer of beans on bottom of casserole dish.

Now, cover the beans with a layer of mushroom soup. After that, lay down a layer of slivered almonds. On top of that, place a layer of fried onions. Repeat the layering process again using beans, soup, almonds, and onions.

Bake this at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove casserole, add a layer of fried onion on very top and place back in stove for another 10 minutes or until top layer of onions are browned. Enjoy.

    Adding cooked crumbled bacon to the green bean casserole is also tasty. Food police need not comment, it’s the holiday season.

    I used sour cream in place of the soup. Also 2 cups cheddar cheese on top, then corn flakes mixed with a little butter over that in place of the onions…way yummy
