ATLANTA (AP) – Falcons rookie receiver Julio Jones has returned from a right hamstring injury and is starting Sunday against Minnesota, which is missing running back Adrian Peterson.
Jones missed last week’s win over Tennessee after missing two games earlier in the season with a left hamstring injury.
Toby Gerhart is starting for Peterson, who on Saturday was downgraded from doubtful to out with his left high ankle sprain. Peterson is missing only his fourth game in his fifth NFL season.
Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who was questionable due to a strained hamstring, is starting but backup tight end Kyle Rudolph is out with a bruised quadriceps.
Tyrell Johnson is starting at strong safety for Husain Abdullah (concussion). Joe Berger is starting at right guard for Anthony Herrera (knee).
